S2E4 - wecanfly
On this week's episode of The WON Podcast, I am joined by Jake Baker-Cliff, founder of the platform, wecanfly.
'Disability is not inability' perfectly captures Jake's vision for wecanfly, a platform designed improve and open up inclusivity within fashion, society and everyday life through the use of garments and practical clothing.
Using his own personal story and inspirations, Jake is looking to combine his passion for sports and design to create solutions and inclusivity for people with needs not necessarily considered in the fashion industry, pushing for innovation within garments and items of clothing to provide solutions for problems that many people with disabilities currently experience. From his time at LCF and working with C.P Company, Jake has learnt practices to piece together different technologies and materials to produce well-considered solutions, as shown in pieces such as the BlindAid jacket, working closely with the charity to ensure the problem at hand was solved.
Away from clothing, wecanfly is intended to be a platform, with ideas such as inclusive workshops and events being the implementation of bring people of all backgrounds together for a much more welcoming and embracing society.
Listen on to hear us speak about all of the above and much more on this week's episode of The WON Podcast with wecanfly.
