On this week's episode of The WON Podcast, I am joined by Nikki Abbott, an aspiring Fashion Designer from Bedford - having recently graduated from university, Nikki is now looking to create an impact within the fashion industry, in one way or another.Since graduation and the events of this year, Nikki has started to think about how she can create this impact, with the idea of her own design and use of skill for upcycling existing clothes and garments, breathing a new leash of life into them. This is linked to her idea to push for sustainability and changing the general mentality of consuming, which is associated with being a large problem within the fashion industry.Listen on to hear us speak about her fashion ventures, her use of the experience and knowledge she has gained and using influences of the established designers and collections within the fashion world to help launch her fashion design career.Want to check out Nikki's work? After a while out, we're back - back with another guest, and this week I am joined by Polar*, a Northampton-bred artist and musician, who can do it all, from rapping to producing to singing. Using his family's roots in Indian music, and pairing it with his own personal taste, Polar* has set out to create his own fusion of genres, creating a varied sound of many styles, but with an end goal of creating his own distinct sound. Several projects in and many other released tracks, it is clear that Polar* has a vision to create his own rendition of fusions, whilst also speaking in this episode about other ways he is trying to experiment and play around with producing.Forming part of the 164 collective, Polar* has not shied away from collaborating and bring people from his hometown with him, where we also discuss about the importance of working with people close to you, and the impact of using a more organic approach to fill out other creative outlets.Listen on to hear us speak about the above, the importance of Indian representation and recognition within the music industry and much more on this week's episode. To check out more of Polar*'s work, use these links below:Spotify - https://open.spotify.com/artist/3qiYtv2C1l57aqSA7hRZTHInstagram - https://www.instagram.com/1polarr/Soundcloud - https://soundcloud.com/polar164Liked what you heard? On this week's episode of The WON Podcast, catch me speaking to Singer, Songwriter, Producer, Elijah Miller.Fresh off the release of his latest EP, 'The Sugar Rush', Elijah has dropped some new music for the first time in a long while, and this is what we'll be discussing on today's episode, the new EP and the process behind it, what we can look forward to in the future, and an experience with Bon Iver that did not go to plan.Finding major success with his 2018 single, 'Alfred Benson', which has amassed over 300,000 streams on Spotify alone, Elijah has used that success to open more opportunities for himself, and constantly finding ways to perfect his sound, which can be described as, especially on the latest EP, having an acoustic tone to it, whilst reflecting on detailed perspectives and anecdotes. Hailing from Bedford, Elijah is also aware of other talents within the town, also touching on how Bedford has the potential to create it's own scene and how these other creatives and artists have the chance in today's age to create an impact within their hometown. So, listen on to hear us speak about all of the above and much more, including a surprise on where Elijah is hoping to take his sound in the near future, and for a chance to listen to a brand new track from 'The Sugar Rush' EP, 'There's Something Sacred About Soho'.To check out more of Elijah's work, see the following:Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/lijah_miller/All streaming services as - Elijah MillerLiked what you heard?
